Arabic Banknotes? What Are These? - Coin Community Forum

All are around the same size (235mm x 85mm), with approximately the same design. To my eye, the writing doesn't look arabic, and doesn't really seem much like a banknote! Sap Moderator Australia 16890 Posts	Posted 10/25/2011 10:33 am It's not Arabic, and probably not banknotes. The script is Tibetan. Tibetan banknotes are generally more colourful than this, so I suspect these are not monetary objects. Rather, these are pages of Tibetan Buddhist manuscript, I believe; this blog shows several woodblock-printed manuscript pages of similar five-line style.
