Found this last night, this picture didn't do it justice at all. I cleaned the coin with Xylene and reposted the picture. It still doesn't do the coin justice. I do see two clear D marks.    Which variety would this be considered? I don't think it's the 1951D-1MM-001 anymore since I don't see the third mint mark. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mdsEdited by Vaslin

I can't say for sure, but it does look like the -001. It is not the 1951D-1MM-002. Dick After reading your post, and going to the forum to check the photos, and then post my reply, it occured to me, "check the link"!  I could have saved a lot of time! It's the clearest RPM I've ever seen when in hand, my flatbed scanner just doesn't pick it up well. I'll see about taking a camera photograph of it this weekend.

Thanks Thingee!! It's such a relief to finally get a coin with a real double die rather than those machine doublings I keep coming across. I *FINALLY* understand what CopperCoins means! :D

Nice find! I just found my first RPM a few days ago, I am in the process of putting my error and variety collection together (all Lincoln Wheats). Congratulations!

After cleaning the coin and looking at it even more, I am no longer convinced that it is the 1951D-1MM-001. This variety is a D-D-D, but there is no sign of the third D.
It is also presenting the underlying mark rotated slightly based on the top serif.

clean up your pic just a bit to get the blur out. the 3rd MM is inside of the other two. all you can see of it is inside the D
