Normally collectors like to see some of the devices such as the date or letters missing before any value would be given.The coin in the listing would be worth a quarter to me Report this Post to the Staff
jcuve Valued Member United States 142 Posts	Posted 01/02/2014 7:04 pm It's not an off center struck coin. I would need to see more shots to diagnosis it for sure. It could be a finned rim in conjunction with a slight partial collar or a ever so slight misaligned die. It could also just be slightly damaged. Report this Post to the Staff
jack jeckel Pillar of the Community United States 5230 Posts	Posted 01/05/2014 9:13 pm Looks like a MAD obverse die. On a true off center strike both the obverse and reverse will be equally off center. The seller intentionally left out a reverse photo in my opinion. Report this Post to the Staff
pyrbob Rest in Peace United States 1943 Posts	Posted 01/06/2014 05:34 am Also a true off centered error is struck without the collar so it will not have reeding on the edge. If both sides are off centered and the quarter has full reeding then it would be MAD struck on both sides and not an off centered error. The quarter posted is not off centered and my guess is it probably isn't a railroad rim (partial collar error). I have seen several coins posted on ebay with slight finning on the rim described incorrectly as a railroad rim. Report this Post to the Staff
