Was I asleep when this coin was released?

I have never seen one in person, weird.

I guess its like the 2004(?) ship quarter I hardly saw any until I started coin hunting quarters.

I've had a couple of the loonies pass through my hands as change but never one good enough to put away.
Gatewest has a gold plated version for $39.95
cheers

They were offered in 5 packs for $5 in August of 2010,

There should be lots of them around in uncirculated condition. I have a 5 pack and also have some that I pulled from circulation back in 2010. Total mintage was 7M.

Agreed though, they seem to relatively uncommon in circulation now. I see them about as often as the 2010 Saskatchewan Roughrider dollars despite the RR mintage of only 3M.

Of course both are circulation coins not NCLT.

Oddly, I don't have any of the Ste. Croix quarters nor can I recall ever seeing one, yet they have a mintage of 15.4M.

I managed to get 17 of the navy loonies from circulation while only getting 3 of the Rough Riders dollars from circulation and one from the mint in Ottawa I managed eight grey cup loonies from circulation one with doubling. I managed 16 of the St Croix quarters and I'm still looking.
The 2012 loonies and toonies (Old Style) seem to have dried up as well.
