Now in terms of practicality, how do you value such a coin? Surely most collectors would rather have an MS-62 or 63 without a rust spot on the forehead. I can't imagine you'd get standard price guide MS-64 list when selling it.

I agree that the spot of toning (and again, it's not as ugly a blemish as it appears to be in these photos) is a distraction. It's why I was reluctant at first to bother with it, as I'm very much a adherent to the "buy the coin, not the slab" maxim. But it was the end of a slow day in the shop and they were packing away their goods for the night, and so I just made a ridiculously low offer, which was accepted.
