I am new to the forum and for the most part collecting. I purchased this 1861 O off of ebay. It looked like it had the speared olive bud. I paid 225 for it. Its ungraded but looks to my uneducated eye to be XF. The thing is after I purchased it I saw after I enlarged it that there is a B and what looks to be an O to the left and above the first 1 in 1861. It looks like someone cloned some spots in photo shop. Opinions and grading help on this one. Thanks. There is also what looks like a flaw in the 861 date running from right to left starting with the 6 and ending with the first 1 top. Thanks again.

not my collecting area but it does look to have XF details. The reverse looks like it has hairlines on the pics. Unless it is an oddball variety of 1861O I am not sure the price paid was not a bit high for a raw coin with some possible issues.

on ebay, what was the sellers return policy? Some give no returns, some give 14 day return. The coin looks like it is a wb-104 speared olive bud but the picture is not clear enough, besides that it has been cleaned so it would bring an xf details but no grade. If there is a return policy you should return it for a refund and do a little research before you buy. Get your money back if you can

The surfaces of the coin don't look original (i.e. messed with) if it were me I'd be returning.

It does appear the seller accurately described the coin by saying it was XF details

I agree I would be returning that one asap. Looks like some corrosion as well on the obverse.
