1995 D Cent Wide AM? - Coin Community Forum

Sleaklight Pillar of the Community United States 827 Posts	Posted 10/29/2007 10:53 am If I remember correctly from another post asking fr info on Wide AM's, they were last officially minted in 1992, right? I found this 1995 D cent that appears to be a Wide AM. Am I correct? I compared it to another 1995 D cent I have and that one apopears to be a Close AM. Any info on this is well appreciated, thanks! foundinrolls Pillar of the Community United States 3507 Posts	Posted 10/29/2007 2:06 pm Nope, this coin is normal. It is a Close AM, despite that slight gap between the A and the M. If there is a slightly weaker strike, the A and M can appear slightly separated even on a regular coin. The Wide A M coins have a distinct separation and the letters are shaped slightly differently. bonham3 Valued Member United States 346 Posts	Posted 10/29/2007 3:34 pm I myself am always looking for the WAMS.(or CAMS :) I usually just look at the "FG" first. (lower right steps of memorial) If it's real tight to the steps, it's a WAM. Also, you can easily see the spacing between the M and Erica as that is my daughters name, I notice it right off :) Looks like two seperate words, AM ERICA Just another observation.
