Here is a 1803 large cent I found on Craigslist near me and was wondering if something this corroded looking would be worth considering? Seller asking $30 but could try for lower. Or should I stay away completely? Keep in mind it will most likely be years before saving up the couple hundred bucks for even just a Fine/Ver Fine example. Thanks for the opinions!

There is quite a bit of detail, but it's really corroded. These are commonly available on ebay for less than $20. Thirty bucks for that coin is a bit high imo. $20 would be better.

Yeah that is what a quick ebay scan looked like. About same detail but not as corroded looking for $50-60. And I guess I would want to upgrade it eventually so.. I think I will pass for now. Just wanted to see if anyone thought it was a really good deal since I haven't researched the large cents too much yet
