These always throw me for a loop. I have to convince myself it's Machine Doubling. Coin just didn't bounce hard enough to give it that shelf appearence. If the upper 9, as I call it, is thinner than a normal 9 I chuck it as MD.

I too would consider this not worth keeping for the same reason as MorganShine.

I would say it's a well placed chip along with MD. I think you can sum it all up with die wear.

Could be die wear/plating separation with a bump forming under it but either way its worth what is marked on the back of the coin.

Die wear and die chip. Not worth much, but neat. I'd keep it just for the heck of it.
