I bought this one on ebay, in an SEGS slab. I sent it to PCGS and specified I would accept a grade one notch lower than the SEGS grade and that is how they slabbed it. Care to stick your neck out with a grade opinion?
I don't see much luster in the pictures, and there appears to be wear on the breast, leg and eagles breast. I would say EF-40 to EF-45 range. Overall a very nice coin I wouldn't mind having.
Originally in an SEGS AU-50 slab, PCGS was very strict but not unreasonable to call it XF-45. This result supports my working theory that in general PCGS will grade SEGS and PCI coins 1 notch lower than the assigned grades, IF they will grade them at all. Any decent-looking SEGS or PCI coin seems to have a 50/50 chance of being body-bagged. I suspect PCGS randomly cycles between "cleaned", "questionable color", and "altered surfaces" when stating the reason for rejecting a coin. But then, I'm suspicious by nature.
