I got this from the machine today. It's not in great shape, but the serial number is interesting. Is this a repeater? If so, because there's only two numbers being used, is it worth a premium?  |

I've only recently started paying attention to serial nos., but I just got a $20 bill whose serial no. ends with "000".
Is this of any interest?

Sorry, that's not a repeater! Repeaters don't end with a left over digit. This is simply a binary note, very common.  Edited by Coinfrog

@torcan, only if it ends with 6 zeros, ie. 2000000, then it is a Million Number note which could be worth a few hundred dollars.
It is very common for banknotes to end with 0, 00, 000, and 0000.

To the OP, It is definitely a repeater.
According to the Charlton Standard Catalog, is a repeater note.
A direct quote for a Three Digit Cycle:
"Serial numbers take the form ABCABCA. There are 900 such repeater notes in every prefix series of ten million notes.
For the special case where B=C, the repeater will also be two-digit radar note. Example of cycle-3 repeating serial numbers are 3743743 and 8848848."

Well, modern Canadian notes only have a seven digit serial number, as apposed to American notes, which have eight. That been said, any Canadian repeater note will end with a left over digit. Or maybe it will start with one. I read the note in question as 7-177-177, but I guess 717-717-7 does make more sense.  Edited by Joseph7420
