Hi there, I'm new here, sorry if I don't do this right...

Came across an unusual find recently. 47 mint condition 1986 issue $2 bills, with sequential serial numbers from EGR8161603 to EGR8161649. Too bad they're cut lol!

Anyway, I can't help wonder if this worth more than $94. Any thoughts or where I could start looking?

The find also included a series of 9 mint condition 1973 $1 bills, sequential from AAP2833521 to AAP2833529... I guess the same question applies!

Thanks for the help,

Pete

I found another thread on here that mentioned some resources. None of the prefixes are anything special, but I would definitely classify them as Gem Uncirculated. The only real special serial number is the one $2 that would be a palindrome.

Would they be worth more than $2 a piece, yes. Because they're in UNC condition. You may be able to get like $3 a piece for them. Maybe someone will pay a bit more because they're sequential.

Same goes for $1 bills. you can use this site for reference http://coinsandcanada.com/banknotes-prices.php

Some letters are considered more scarce then others. But it doesn't look like EGR and AAP are.

Hi.

What are the signatures on the EGRs? Thiessien - Crow would be the more scarcer ones, fetching around $12 each.

Bonin - Thiessien may get you $3 each.

The 1973 $1 will fetch for around $2

Enjoy

If they are all sequential and none are missing, then you should have a radar or kayak note in there....EGR8161618. I would have to guess that an UNC 1982 radar would fetch a pretty decent premium.

Funny, I thought I'd mentioned somewhere that yes the radar is in there of course. What do many people do with something like that to test it's value? Stick it on ebay and see what happens?

A 3 digit radar is pretty common.

The Charlton catalog gives a value of $30 to this banknote.

There is a similar one for $29 on ebay.
