Hi all,

I've been looking to improve my US grading skills after collecting world coins for quite a few years. US grading seems ultra strict and it is much easier to lose than to win.

Went to a local coin shop and basically said to myself that I wouldn't get anything unless I felt it was very nice. I'm originally from California, so I collect San Francisco mint coins, usually. I ended up with this 1952-S quarter. Please let me know what you think of the grade and about anything I might have missed.

Thanks!

I'd say good shot at 67. Beautiful coin.

Thanks for the opinions so far. 65 and 67 are pretty far apart. Maybe I can at least end up splitting the difference at a 66? T-BOP, what do you mean "LDS on reverse"?

MS-67. Eye Appeal 9/10. Screaming beauty. Fantastic choice.
Congratulations.

VERY nice choice!

It has a couple small marks, but overall nothing too distracting. The only thing I don't like about it is that spot on the obverse below "In God We Trust". Overall, it's a very nice piece. Congrats!

Beautiful specimen. A solid 66, the mint mark is very sharp. Well defined can be tough to track down.

At least MS-66 but would have been easier to grade it if out of the 2x2.
