This coin shows both improper alloy mix and lamination errors on both obverse and reverse. Not surprising, I guess, that both errors run the same direction. The obverse lam is small but you can see it on the coat running SW to rim.

Very cool find! You will find these two run in the same circles. Most lams will have some woody look to it but not all woodies have lams. Just depends on how bad the alloy mix was, I suppose. Both are due to this.

Great find. I always have trouble determining if the "woody" texture is showing naturally or because the coin was cleaned in the past. The metal grains of copper look like scratches.
