For Christmas I bought two coin albums from Amazon to put my world and commemorative Australian coins in. I then found out a few days ago that those albums have PVC, which harms coins.

There a quite a lot of coins in the Aussie album I really don't want getting PVC-d, so what do I do? At worst the coins will have "cloudy" residue, with MINIMAL patches of green.

I'm thinking at this point of soaking the coins in acetone, then storing them in cardboard 2x2s. However, I won't have any opportunities to head out to buy the 2x2s for two months, so should I just take the coins out and put them in a box with or leave them as they are?

Sorry that happened to you.
From what I understand, temporary storage in PVC won't harm coins. I've frequently received coins in PVC flips from dealers who are too cheap or old school to use high quality mylar flips. (Personally, I don't understand this.) From what I've read, long-term storage, especially in warm high humidity climate will affect the coins in the ways you've mentioned. I'd give them a soak, but your coins are probably ok.

That's a relief. I've kept the coins in the albums since Christmas, and some have gotten the "hazy" effect while others look like someone dabbed fingerprints all over it. I just hope two months isn't enough for the Green Death to take over".

I live in Australia, and months like Dec, Jan, and Feb are hot, but I don't leave them in the sun or anything

Why do I feel like soaking "hazy" coins in acetone will do more harm than good? I want to play it safe, but I don't want to play it risky.

Acetone will not harm your coins. It will help them

Acetone bath will be fine. Try it on a less valuable coin for practice and move on from there. You'll have more piece of mind!
