Need Help W Id'ing Medieval Piece - Coin Community Forum

joewobblie Valued Member United States 238 Posts	Posted 07/16/2023 8:04 pm I have tried searching Numista but I just can't figure this one out. Looks like Henry III but I don't see a match. On the obverse he is holding a scepter and the cross on the reverse goes rim-to-rim (long cross). I have a hard time figuring out what the letters are - on the reverse starting at 1:00 my best guess is: OHL VND WIL LEM I think it is silver (nonmagnetic for sure) weighs 1.47 grams (.051 ounces) and measures between 18 and 19 mm. When it comes to medievals, learning to read the letters opens up an entire world. For a short, cheap, & informative reference, I recommend Walker's "Reading Medieval European Coins."
