I've been reading that UPS, especially, is so backed up waiting on CBP that they are bulk destroying packages to make room in their (bonded) warehouses.

Where did you read that from? have a link?

So why did Dearborn not pay a tariff on his French coin while tdziemia did on his coin?

It could be that my seller sent it in a plain white letter envelope (not the long 9.5" business one, but the smaller 5" envelope) He probably didn't declare anything on it and dropped it in the mail box.

Got my book on Utrecht Medals in the mail today, shipped by family in The Netherlands. No tariff, no duty.

Yep. That's a risk that a commercial seller won't take with hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.

It seems that thus far, SCOTUS is not impressed with the arguments presented by US Solicitor General D. John Sauer. I could see an unanimous vote against the tariffs.

That seems to be the case, NumisEd. But we may not hear anything from SCOTUS until June.

Since SCOTUS ruled against the tariffs, are we back to normal now?

Pretty unbelievable that three foted in favor (two of course were "the usual suspects")

One can only hope.

Or at least leave tariffs to manufactured goods or something, not archaeological artifacts from a time before America existed. (Yeah, I know, nobody cares about us collectors.)

...As of 7:00 CST (2/21/26), ebay is still collecting tariff fees on overseas items (here in the USA)...

Looks like Trump enacted a new 15% "revenge" tariff on all imports under Section 122.

In all fairness, ebay needs instructions from their lawyers as to what the ruling means, then they need to make code changes.

...absolutely correct ... I'm looking at an item from Spain, & the tariff notice is still attached to the auction (02/22) ...

Some countries are exempt from the tariffs. The origin of the item is important too.

I bought a Mexican Libertad from a German ebay seller - no tariff.
