St. Gaudens $20 Gold 1909/8: Any Premium In Au?

Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6459 Posts	Posted 06/14/2011 4:54 pm I bought a decent AU 1909 St. Gaudens double eagle at the local shop basically as a bullion piece. I later noticed it was the 1909/8 overdate which was not noted by the dealer. According to the Coin Prices retail guide this variety only carries a premium in mint state grades. Would anyone have a comment? Did the coin shop leave money on the table, or would a normal AU 1909 be priced the same as the overdate? Report this Post to the Staff
