Track Slabbed Coin? - Coin Community Forum

andrewjconners Valued Member United States 497 Posts	Posted 08/13/2011 4:01 pm Recently at a show I put down a slabbed 32D Washington when talking to a dealer and I belive someone took it. It was NGC gradded and was wondering since I have the number on top if I can track it? I learned from my mistake to put it down in public and I take the responsibility for it. glenzy1 Pillar of the Community Canada 1554 Posts	Posted 08/13/2011 4:08 pm Sorry to hear about your unfortunate loss, however, the slab # will only tell you the coin housed in it. It could however, be a way of identifying the stolen piece if ever seen/found again. If it is of any value, make sure you do a police report of your loss and obtain a police file #. This will be your proof that the coin was reported stolen. Also contact NGC grading services and inform them of this incident. If the coin was special in any way they may have taken a photograph of it and have it on file. This may help incase the culprit decides to crack it out and re-submit it. At least any marks on the coin may be used to I.D. same as a fingerprint! Good Luck, Glenn Report this Post to the Staff

There are more than one 1932-D quarters out there in NGC slabs in the same grade yours is in (I am sure) and the only way to tell them apart is by the certificate numbers Report this Post to the Staff
