Whoever polished these coins really killed any value they may have had. Could you post pictures of the 1928 out of the holder? I think I see enough to authenticate it, but I just want to be sure.

Before I break the plastic case how do I get it out of the case?

If they are airtites of some sort, there should be a small seam on side going all the way around rim. Carefully open from there. One side slides over another, seam on side splits top and bottom.

Airtites(the plastic cases) for these are inexpensive and easy to get. Your local coin shop should have a ready supply of them or you can get them from ebay.
