KurtS Pillar of the Community United States 5318 Posts	Posted 04/24/2008 4:41 pm Found the other day at a show. I'm posting this as it's a clear diagonstic for the 1953-55 shoulder fold cents. You can tell this is shoulder fold by the position of the I in DEI, which aligns to a denticle. The shoulder fold variety is slightly scarcer for '53, and standard issue for 1954-55. alterego New Member Canada 9 Posts	Posted 04/25/2008 12:09 pm From what I've recently been told (and seems to hold true) it's not only the position of the 'I' that can help I.D. the SF and NSF coins but the kind of I as well. The I's in DEI GRATIA of a SF coin will be straight whereas the same I's in a NSF coin are distinctively flared on the top and bottom. Hope this helps. Brendan Report this Post to the Staff
