Is there anything interesting on the other side?

I will guess -- just seeing one side of something that I assume used to be a coin -- that it was ground down and that little rectangle in the middle makes me think the coin was used as a piece of jewelry or a button.

It didn't leave the mint looking that way. Not an error coin. It is, however, a curiosity -- especially since I don't know what's on the other side!

to the forum!

Looks to me like a ground down Jefferson nickel. Happened after it was struck, so it's a damaged coin, probably not even worth $0.05 any longer.
