Mainly because of how the 'R' looks. The doubling on it is larger than the actual letter. A true DD both are the same size. Let the pros chime in. Coop, E&V etc. Is what I said accurate? I do see a little bit of Machine Doubling, but that's bound to happen, since proofs are struck twice. Errers and Varietys. Report this Post to the Staff

piercethegrimes Valued Member United States 260 Posts	Posted 06/17/2018 2:00 pm masterj I think what you are seeing is reflection from the lighting. if you check out the link tanman provided, it will give you a better idea on what we are seeing. the date shows thicker devices with separation lines. the top left of 2nd T in "TRUST" you can see some light notching. bottom left of S in "TRUST" and slightly on the U.
