Bowfin Valued Member United States 296 Posts	Posted 09/27/2008 8:11 pm When it comes to grading I am clueless. I avoid publicly doing so, but I would like to learn. If I read everything correctly and compared to what I've seen that has been graded, I'm thinking this first dime is somewhere just shy of VF-20. This dime I would say is a VG-8. This one about a VG-20. Does the dirt lower the grade it would otherwise be? Your more experienced opinions would be warmly welcomed. Report this Post to the Staff

Metalman Pillar of the Community United States 7123 Posts	Posted 09/27/2008 9:09 pm First coin is a VF-20 , the second is a F-15 I can still see some of the diagonals , the third coin looks like a VF-25 maybe 30 in hand , the dirt while it is distracting does not necessisarily affect the grade but it does affect the eye appeal which in turn affects the value . They are a good starting point to get you in the ballpark. I have seen them for US, and I assume that they exist for some non-US as well. Report this Post to the Staff
