Quote: Same old song and dance. Yes, well, all of that which has been happening plus what will happen this week plus what the potential outcome of the midterms is shaping up to be. All of that equals a Bear Market coming to a theater near you. There was a chance to turn things around a couple of months ago, but I think it's too late for that now, we're probably at the point of no return. From what I'm hearing if we stay on this course the best case scenario is sideways to lower through September until end of year. Until when there will no longer be any point in holding the markets up and then we'll see a lot more selling. We saw something similar I think in December of 2021, the market went up one last time and then January it was in free fall the rest of the year.

Rather uneventful day. Markets mixed again. Night crew coming in.

Looks like the night crew knocked us down into the ~$57 zone.

Hmmm... The truce is supposedly back in place and oil prices are dropping, so you'd think silver and gold would be going up and not down. Again, this is why I no longer try to explain or predict anything.

Think GDP, interest rates, bonds. There was also some shenanigans in the form a of a coordinated effort to lower Oil, by massively shorting it, no need to wondrr who might have been behind that, it worked but that's just temporary. Wait for the bounce over 100. Oh and forget about the so called truce, markets aren't focused on the 'war' trade anymore.

Maybe everything will become more clear in 98 days, if not 833.

There's a Ton of weird stuff happening and very interesting dynamics playing out in the financial markets, what with all that's going on in the world. There is Big money positioning itself, betting so to speak, on one outcome or another.. If the Big money is wrong they'll reposition quickly. And we'll see the repositioning happening in the form of increased volatility and wild swing's in the markets. One of those many 'weird and 'interesting' things I'll point out for you to watch and take a look at is Gold. Gold has been chopping above 4K for over a month now. It's holding there and not budging.

Gold has its psychological power over us.

It goes beyond the psychological price level's that trader's and institutions use to buy or sell.
Gold is far more important than Silver in the financial world. Gold functions primarily as a universal store of value, safe-haven asset, and central bank reserve, making it a cornerstone of global monetary policy.
In contrast, silver is driven largely by industrial demand in manufacturing, solar, and electronics, acting more like a raw material than a financial instrument.
You might as well lump Silver together with Copper when comparing it to Gold.
Gold holds some weight in the world of assets and is used as a benchmark off of which to measure the performance of other assets.
There's a list of commodities and assets that are used to analyze overall market performance. On it are things like Oil, the S&P and it's 11 sector's, bonds, interest rates, and Gold... Silver isn't on the list. It just goes along for the ride.

Good points. By psychology, I meant for humanity on the whole, not just the traders, but your explanation is better.

Quote: Gold has its psychological power over us. Thinking about it, and thinking about the past weeks and months, to be quite honest I think Silver is the one with all of the psychological power. We don't see people get this way over platinum, nickel or copper. I'll admit that it's an extremely beautiful shiny object to look at but at the end of the day it's another commodity, a metal, and it's meant to be used in trade or "traded". Either in barter or for industrial purposes.

I have always preferred silver to gold. Not that my opinion matters.

Quote: We don't see people get this way over platinum, nickel or copper. I think it's because silver is in that sweet spot between being affordable enough for "common" people to own significant amounts and being valuable enough to actually be worth owning. Gold and platinum are valuable, but few people can actually afford to own more than a few ounces (if that). Nickel and copper are cheap, but you would need to have tons of the stuff in order to amass any sort of wealth. With silver, though, an average person can easily have acquired hundreds or even thousands of ounces in the past (before it started going above $20) and those thousands of ounces will amount to a significant amount of money if silver goes back up to $100 or higher.

I think right now Gold is the way to go. Think about this, for the past few weeks interest rates have been high and haven't backed off. Gold didn't budge. The US Dollar just rallied to it's highest level in 2026. Gold didn't budge. Government Central Banks slowed down buying Gold but didn't stop. They're still net buyer's of Gold. Gold has been consolidating for a month. Every time in the past Gold has consolidated for many weeks it has always resolved to the upside not the downside. Gold is approaching and about to bump up against a trendline. If it breaks above that trendline I think it's going to $4400. Not saying it's happening today, not tomorrow, but in the coming weeks.

Agreed with what you wrote. I know that you and many people, myself included, got into Silver when it was at the lows. Me personally, it's a bit fuzzy but I think I started collecting, buying silver around $11 and everything I own was bought between $11 and $25ish dollars and ounce. So yeah it's hard for anyone not to feel that in the pit of their stomachs watching it go to $120 and back to $60.
