Stopped at the bank teller had $3 in halves all clad. She then said I have one roll. Well this was a good one. Been a while since I got one like this.

Until today, I've never had much luck visiting two local branches of one of the regional banks on the North Shore. Yesterday a teller told me that she didn't have any half dollars at the branch where she was working that day. But she had some locked in her drawer at the branch located in the town next to where I live -- and she would be working there today. When I arrived, the teller showed me $65 in loose half dollars in her drawer that a customer recently cashed. I immediately noticed the silver edges on several of them. As she counted the coins and stacked them in front of me, she said she knew that some of them contained silver. But because I had spoken to her several times during the past two years, she decided to sell all of them to me. After I paid for the coins, she asked me to identify the ones that contained silver in the first stack. Then we took turns separating the silver coins in each of the remaining stacks. The pile contained 20 40% silver Kennedy half dollars and one Benjamin Franklin half dollar. Then she told me the same customer had cashed several old $2 bills with red notes. I purchased all five 1953 and 1963 US Bank notes. Before I left I exchanged 15 CWR of dimes for 15 more rolls (which contained two silver coins). Quite the visit! That teller more than earned the $10 Starbucks gift card that I slipped to her before I left the bank.

Nice Score! Very nice of her to pass them on to you, even though she knew that some were silver!
