Quote:What's odd is that so many who are offering them on ebay have dozens for sale. If every box with privy marked coins was loaded like the box RobsFinds got (I believe he got 815 in ONE box!), that would explain it.

Quote: I'm normally a nickel hunter but I ordered my first box of quarters last week and picked it up at the bank today. Quote: Ended up with a complete box Jefferson Declaration quarters (Denver mint). Quote: Went through it this evening and unfortunately no privy mark quarters. Bummer. Quote: Ordered another box which I'll pick up next week. Good luck!

Quote: 5 boxes searched and zippo on any Jefferson quarters. Bummer. Quote: Might roll by my friendly neighborhood branch on my weekend and asked them to check the date stamps of the boxes and give me the newest. Quote: Another negative, heck I still have almost 2k in quarters to re-deposit

Quote:I saw one sell on ebay for less than $150. And I expect the base will go lower. The price can only go down as the market saturates and those who really want one have already acquired one. Quote: But probably never low enough for me to bite. Give it a few years. Quote:What's odd is that so many who are offering them on ebay have dozens for sale. Pretty high, especially if they had some inside help locating them.

Still no sign of the Declaration of Independence quarters here in SoCal... Will be making a trip out to the Vegas-area in a few weeks, but I have a feeling they won't be out there either, based on past coin distribution history (they seem to get the same coins out there as we do in SoCal). Exception: casino quarters - sometimes travelers drop their "extra" quarters in the slots so I may check out a couple of casinos (Circus Circus, El Cortez)...
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

I picked up my 2 boxes today and was smiling when I saw the new US Mint boxes. Unfortunately they are all revolutionary war quarters. 100 rolls of 2026-D. I may just slide those under the bed for a couple of years and see if any interesting varieties pop up.

@ Roller42 any date stamp on the lid of the box? At least you're getting warmer.

Quote: any date stamp on the lid of the box? Nope. No stamps. Just the standard boxes with holes on both sides so you can count the rolls without opening. I popped both open, just to make sure, and they are solid boxes. I ordered two more boxes for next week. If I keep spinning the wheel, maybe I'll get lucky.

I finally obtained a new box containing 80% Declaration of Independence quarters ( the balance being Revolutionary War). All coins were from Denver. No privy marks, but at least we have the correct variety now in Cincinnati. I have 4 more boxes coming in throughout the next week.
