Here's an interesting trio of US minted coins that were minted outside of the continental United States.

1936 3 coin commemorative set issued to celebrate the establishment of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, which was a transitional government under American administration (1898-1946)

They were authorized by the US Congress and produced at the Manila Mint (a branch of the US Mint) and feature the "M" mintmark.

Many of these coins were thrown into Manila Bay in 1942 to prevent them from being seized by Japanese forces which made the small mintage (10,000 per Peso and 20,000 for the 1/2) even smaller for the collectors. You can often find many of these coins with salt water damage. Total population for both Peso coins in PCGS slabs is slightly over 700 coins.
