Thanks, igwt79, TomM, and Errers and Varietys!
If a clad coin is brand new looking and it's P-mint and 15 or more years old, or from the 1900s (regardless of mint), I tend to save them.. I saw the 1996 date first and noticed how nice the coin was... couldn't believe it when I removed the coin blocking my view and saw the mint mark... my exact words were "NO WAY!!!" when I saw the W. Got that one in a 2x2 real quick! The clip earned a 2x2 too...

Quote: similar purchase yielded two amazing keepers: a really nice clip on a 1966, and, most shockingly, a 1996-W!!! Outstanding! Quote: Needless to say, this is my first 1996-W found in the wild Jealous, I am.

Dime rolls continued to be productive throughout July. the second half of the month produced three silver coins, two proofs, and a steel cent. All of the silver coins and the steel cent were found in CWR. One proof was found in a CWR, the other in a MWR. Most incredibly, one of the silver coins was a 1930 1/10 Balboa coin. While I've found plenty of Panama coins before, this one is my first ever silver!

So last Friday, I went to one of my usual branches and happened upon a lone roll of nickels in old-style wrapping all dated 1964 and before. Said group had 16 pre-60s, but no special dates. The roll was amongst a group of 10 rolls given to the teller who was helping me by another teller to complete my buy of $50 in nickels. Curious if the other teller had other old rolls, I finally made it back there after work today. In addition to 16 more similarly marked nickel rolls (see this post in the nickel thread: https://goccf.com/t/24785&whichpage=889#4522403), there was a lone dime roll amongst the 50 CWR she had which looked interesting: The roll felt heavy to me, so I put it with the 16 old-style wrapped nickel rolls. When I got to my car, I opened it... lo and behold!!! The same branch where I famously found a nine silver dime roll hoard five years ago produces again! Other than a 1946 Philly, four 1964 Philly coins, and single S-mint examples from 1951, 1952, and 1953, every coin was from Denver, including 27 of the ubiquitous 1964 issues.

Thanks, Errers... definitely a dump - likely a hoard of coins that was just sitting there for 61 years - there were three Uncirculated 1965-dated nickels in that group (every other nickel was dated from 1939-1964). My guess is a family member rounded these up and turned them in after the owner likely passed on... I have no idea if the teller at one time had other rolls (cents, quarters, other dime and/or nickel rolls) which may have been part of what was recently turned in... I'm just VERY happy to stumble upon this particular roll!

I love coin dumps--collections, accumulations, etc. I stumbled into a Wheat cent dump several years ago--seven or eight customer wrapped rolls from a bank. Solid wheats, many in XF through mid AU condition.

Excellent find, John77. Persistence pays off - to the tune of 40x face value, at least at my LCS's current pricing.
