*** Edited by Staff to Add Year and/or Mintmark and/or Denomination to Title. It's essential to have it in the title. ***

Attached are a couple photos of my 1985-S proof dime. I find it particularly stunning visually due to the gun-metal blue toning of the mirror background, which contrasts the beige toning of the frosted Roosevelt surface. As you can see in the photo, this gives a flesh-tone appearance to the face and presents the image like a three dimensional photograph rather than a metal coin! The photos were taken while the coin was in it's holder, so the white specks over the mirror surface area I believe are dust particles on the plastic film.
I am wanting to sell the coin, so worth grading, what's the best avenue to sell such a coin, and value to expect?
Thanks in advance.

Not worth grading at all. It's only worth a few dollars at most.

With the cost of grading, unless a coin is worth at least
about $200.00, you would lose money getting it graded
and that dime is not worth anywhere near that.
Keep it in the 2x2 as a nice example.

I agree. A nice example, but there is no upside to getting it graded.

Grading unnecessary

Jackson, here is the cost of grading at the 4 TPG's

there are really the only two reasons to slab a coin
1. its a rare coin that needs authenticated and preserved
2. you are planning on selling the coin and the cost of acquisition plus the grading fee's would warrant it without chewing up all your profit. I would not grade anything less than $200 and you can see why below

PCGS - Economy grading $23 valued up to $300.shipping & ins both ways (1-4 coins is $27 if the total value is under $1000). PCGS charges a minimum of $69 for a subscription other subscription levels include grading vouchers though so you could reduce these costs.
1-coin $119 2-coins $72 3-coins $56 4-coins $44

NGC - economy grading tier is $25 (under $300) plus $10 handling fee, plus $28 for shipping (1-5 coins) and insurance both ways.
1-coin $63 2-coins $44 3-coins $37 4-coins $34

ANACS - Economy - No Gold: $18 per item for items valued up to $500. plus $29 for shipping (1-4 coins) and insurance both ways.
1-coin $47 2-coins $32 3-coins $28 4-coins $25

CACG - economy grading $15, gold $28, $40 shipping/handling/ins. Plus $99 subscription ($50 grading credit),
1-coin $139 2-coins $69 3-coins $46 4-coins $37
