Going thru my father's Morgan set (complete minus 1893S), this 1893 looks very fishy. Dad was is a bargain hunter and many in this collection are problem coins having been assemble in the days when cleaning coin was not taboo. He is 94 now.
I am not expert but this one really seems off. It looks to be cast. There is alot going on here that raise my suspicions. The eye, the surfaces overall, left of eagles neck for starters. And the reeding.
I have some close ups of these areas and more if requested. The weight is 26.37g. Not 26.73.
What do you think?

I see a well circulated dollar. Mint tolerance is 26.633 grams to 26.827 grams, but wear could account for weight loss.

Looks genuine with some unfortunate scratches. The date is spot on for a VAM-6, with a near date and doubled 8-9 in the date. You can actually see slight doubling in your coin in the lower loop of the 9.

Looks VG and genuine to me. There are some scratches & it's hard to tell what happened left of the eagle's neck.

Much strangeness on this one. At least it's good to know it's genuine. Thanks all for helping me out here. Based on all the input I guess this one might yield a G6. Thanks again all.
