Hi all

I came across this 1987 Lincoln Penny that seems to be double died on the 8, 7 and D.it is hard to see in certain lighting and all I have is a camera for zoom, no magnifying glass or scale for weight as I am somewhat new to this.

What do you all think?

That is what we call Die Deterioration Doubling. It is cause by a worn Die and adds no value to the coin.

I also note split plating on the MM too.

Also the correct terminology is a Doubled Die.
