That's another excellent example/grade!

I remember these entering circulation while I worked at a local carwash. I remember trying to figure out the serial # on the back (but never managed to find a pattern). I could not understand why the central bank replaced the 1969 version with this modified version a decade later. According to my Charlton, it was to make the notes readable with vending machines & the design was more pinkish to distinguish it from the $1.00 note (some were confusing the two denominations).

I love the scene of Moraine Lake in Banff & have visited the park (spot) where that scene was photographed.

BTW & FWIW: BC-54A would be a replacement but your note is BC-54a (upper case A = replacement & lower case a = 1st signature with the codes)
