Really nice 1800, altered to an 1804, bidding ends tomorrow - https://www.ebay.com/itm/128086094274Looks like quite a good job building the 4, but a lousy job covering up the old 0. Seller is completely up front that this is an altered date, so no problem there. Actually a really nice coin otherwise ("other than that, Mrs Lincoln"...), interested to see where it lands. It appears to be genuine America I variety. It matches up perfect to the B19.

Very interesting. At least the seller is honest about the date being altered. Props to the seller for being honest and up front.  Errers and Varietys.

Altered date most probably, but I think an altered date on a fake coin. I think it crazy to alter the date on a genuine coin of this type.  |

The coin looks like a genuine 1800 to me.
You can see the shadow of the "0" behind the 4.
No one is going to take a fake 1800 and go through
the trouble to make a fake 1804.

Matches up perfectly with BB-192. I figure it must be a very old alteration, maybe 1870-1900? The 4 is executed really well, and its very close to an actual 1804 dollar, although despite the excellent work I doubt it fooled too many people, considering the ghost of the 0 is still obvious.
