Hey everyone, all I've been able to find out regarding this error is supposedly there's only like 30 known cases. I think my coin, oddly, might be one for a few different reasons but ultimately I need to find a XRF, but what do yall think? Standard 1919-P Wheat pennyWeigh 3.11g Diameter 19-19.05mm Thickness 1.52-1.55mm My penny Weigh 3.04g Diameter 19mm Thickness 1.32-1.35mm The 1930 Penny is simply for comparison reference   |

From the information I can see online, the coin is slightly heavier (by 0.04g) and slightly thicker (by 0.02-5 mm) than a Argentine 10 Centavos, but I cant find information on whether or not this was within acceptable mint tolerances. From the picture I cant tell if its silver colored or yellowish. If its yellowish it might be acid dipped.

Your 1919 has seen better days, it's wore down and has a lot of PMD, I don't think it is the Argentina version. |

Henry Voight, unfortunately that yellowish is my ceiling light. And yes this coin has definitely seen better days. The thing that gets me is the thickness or rather how thin it is. Idk though, need to get it tested with a XRF. Would be pretty cool if it turns out to be one though.

What is the alloy composition for the Argentine planchet?
XRF is a possible tool only if the alloy compositions are sufficiently different from each other.

25% nickel, 75% copper. If you have a local coin or bullion dealer they would probably be glad to test it with their XRF for you.

First,  Mint weight tolerances for the bronze Lincoln Cents were 3.110 g +/- 0.130 g, or a weight range of 2.980 g to 3.240 g. Your coin is well within that range. Just curious. Where did you learn about the Argentine planchets? The Argentine 10 Centavos planchets were Cupro-Nickel, with the same Cu 75% Ni 25% composition as U.S. Nickels. Any coin struck on those planchets would have the same general appearance as a nickel. Again, welcome! |

To CCF! Looks normal to me. I don't think it was struck on an Argentine Planchet. Errers and Varietys.

Doesn't look like the Argentine planchet that I have seen.
There is no silvery grey showing on it. Also it could have
been struck on a slightly thin planchet hence the lighter weight.

Seems like a normal worn 1919 cent. As bright as it is it also looks like somebody tried cleaning it - maybe a ground find.
