I found a reasonable number of silver half dollars this week at three different banks. First a teller at a location that until now hasn't been very productive told me the bank had $50 in CWRs. When I arrived there, I also purchased five more coins in the teller's tray -- and one of them contained 40% silver. Two of the rolls were in old-fashioned wrappers, and one even had a 40% silver "ender". But I found only one more 40% silver coin in that roll, and the second one didn't contain any silver.
A Loomis box I acquired at a different bank the same day had two proof "enders". I found two more proof coins and three 40% silver
Kennedy half dollars in that box. The
Franklin half dollar was the only silver coin in the three boxes I purchase each week from a different bank in the same town -- which unfortunately has gone "cold" this month.
