My Grandfather has a thing for ordering products through magazines and such (Reader's Digest) and he likes to buy coins for me from First Commemorative Mint. I have got a 1973 Mounty Dollar and a Complete 2005 Buffalo 8 coin set from him. So I guess my question is..... Is this a reputable company or should I tell him to take it easy with the ordering?
You can figure out the silver valve (melt) of a 1973 dollar... You can figure out the collector valve of the 1973 dollar (check ebay) or retail pricing from J&M coins, colonial acres etc... You can get pricing books for Canadian and US coins which should be checked with real world pricing. Compare prices against the shop you mentioned.
I would not buy what I don't understand, but that is just me. If it is just a gift from your grandfather and you think it would be wiser for him to buy you a gift from somewhere else talk to him about it and why.
