It is sad about the PMD, but at least it's not in the prime or secondary focal areas. I think that this is most likely uncirculated, though, because the 1935-D was a weakly struck date. This coin's luster is amazing as well! Once again, beautiful coin muddler!

Looks like a MS63 or so coin that someone decided to
squeeze with a wire cutter.

My thoughts on the PMD is someone absent mindedly crimped the coin cutting it out of a old holder. The coin has never seen circulation and is blast white.
