I started collecting these when all the 2011's were being sold along with a few of the 2012's. I never thought the HI and AK would get pulled so fast. At some point I will try to pick up HI and AK as well as the 2010 coins.

I know. I luckily got them. As far as 2010 I did get the last one since it was still out there when they had the first price drop and I picked up yellowstone after market for 200. I'm not that concerned about the other 3 since I won't pay a greayt premium just to say I have them. I am getting these as a store of value for gifts for kids/relatives. I felt when their cost is nearer to what junk costs I buy so I have both collectiblity as well as intrinsic value

Same here, I will only pay so much per oz. Instead of buying rolls of ASE's I get my silver with these 5 oz at a time. I feel $31 an oz delivered from the mint is a very fair price. I may put together a double set of this years to trade sometime down the road. |

Yes. A fair price. Sometimes it may seem a better price with other online places but with the mint no extra chg for cc no wires and shipping free or not much. I only buy locally otherwise. I just don't like all involved when not made in person

A set of doubles isn't a bad idea. Wish I had thought of that for the 2012 set, they were all available for $204.95 at some point during their sales window, except for Denali, which debuted @ $229.95 until it sold out 4 months later. '13 is going to have higher proportional mintages because there is more collector attention focused on them now and $154.95 is a whole heckuva lot cheaper than the 2010's at $279.95. Also a lot a veteran collectors dismissed the pucks as novelty items in '10. Didn't think the Mint could go the distance for 11 years with a huge 3-inch coin. Have you seen the 18 that have been released shown together at a show or by another collector? A king's ransom. It will probably the most awe inspiring most awesome thing I ever collect in my lifetime...

I wonder if everyone that bought those first few at 279 have them all. I don't recall their mintages but I think quite a few. I seem to recall that there were similar P and bullion versions that year. In 2011 a lot of bullion. Maybe that's why so long to seel those out.

I keep trying to wrap my head around 280 oz of silver just for the P set. Then there are bullion of each. That could be a 560 oz collection. Half slabbed and half in OGP.

The great irony of the $279.95 pucks of 2010 are that the first three have the highest mintage for its type so far. 27,000 and probably won't be broken this year, maybe in '14. Everglades should be a fab coin in either P or bullion versions.

Ok, another question for you guys-
How much did these pull in after the price of silver dropped?
One coin of this series that I love is the El Yunque..... any ideas on what would be a fair going market price to pick one up?

I got the bullion version of el yuque graded ms69 DMPL the highest grade you can get for $179. I would try to find it around that price.

I just picked up a NGC MS69 Early Releases Hot Springs for $165. Below the issue price back then. But I don't think it's a proof - I just started on this set I hope it's a good investment for the money, but yea a lot of silver pucks laying around when the set is over

Its the first one. I don't think a bad price since it is first and whoever bought it originally probably lost some on it

Kinda what I thought as well even if it's not the proof version It's a nice filler for now. Wish I started the set sooner. It's fun to pick up the coins for place I've been to

havana - there aren't any proofs for these coins. You either get the Mint issued P or a bullion. I am like you getting started late on these and am filling the front half with the bullion coins - which are sometime ahrd to find as well - but easier and cheaper. Someone once said the bullion coins that have 4 legged creatures on them seem like they don't turn out as good...so far I agree with that.

Oh I misspoke - I meant to say the Mint Issued P that came in the box etc. not the bullion coin
