Chequer - I've struck a CNA token on a press like this. The RCM has also travelled with a similar press to the USA for an ANA show. |

I have to wonder why they do this, a small scale screw press capable of thousands PSI immediate gradient is simple enough to build and doesn't involve busted kneecaps by people who have never swung a sledge. or even a Uhlhorn Press or something.
Nothing like getting back to basics though.

@Scissel - where was the CNA token struck and the year.
I've been to a few conventions and never noticed this with the mint at any, including the one in Saint John for 2010. I think it should be at every convention and they should make a better effort to attend coins shows across Canada. That would actually show education is important too... not just making a dollar.

Chequer - It was the 2009 convention in Edmonton. I wonder if the RCM was inspired by Kyle Mutcher of Four Corners Coins (Winnipeg) - He was taking a sledge-hammer press to coin shows before the RCM was. Kyle engraves his own dies & uses silver blanks. |

The rabbit was a weak strike. The 125 Vancouver was a MS 64 but the Dragon has to be MS67!  Nice tokens! |
