Maybe, but how many other collectors can say they have THAT token in THAT condition . I certainly can't say that . Any idea as to the graded populations of that one? I would say that number has to be REALLY low. You may have the only one @ MS-64 left out there . Again, CONGRATS!

Hmmm Can say I never considered that. Well, what do you know, it is the finest known...... well, truthfully it is the only MI525C-11a in the report. LOL

Interesting token Dave. I did find an entry in the Rulau Token catalog for J. Stiner & Co. The tokens pictured there do not resemble what you have. Kind of makes me wonder if it is a scale weight used for measuring tea for sale. Here is what Rulau shows.

It is a merchant token MILLER - NY 839A, not a scale weight. I checked on it before buying... Not worth a lot, but interesting. Here's a link to an article about Stiner & Co... https://secure.uptontea.com/shopcar...le_page1.aspAnd yes, they did have additional tokens/medals for advertising like the one you posted... Oh, and I ended up getting two of my tokens back from NCG. The Straight's Elephantine came back @ MS-63 & the ML Marshall was MS-62. Funny how grading is subjective. I personally thought the Marshall token would grade higher than the Straight's...

Iteresting article Dave thanks for sharing with us. Congrats on the grades, as I recall both tokens were very nice, good that NGC recognized that.

Thanks, Bill. Since I can't afford the rare tokens like someone I know, I've been trying to find the common ones in MS condition at reasonable prices.

Well, for a blind squirrel, you sure find a LOT of nuts (aka RARE MI CWTs)

OK, so this is my first, so please go easy on me! Bought for my 'Liberty capped' collection. I believe this is a Fuld 11/289 but of course am happy to be corrected. Any other information about it will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

TG - Wow, that is an outstanding CWT. A sharp crisp strike on both sides, and great color, clearly a mint state piece to my eye. I worked through the Fuld Die-A-Gram for both sides and will offer the thought that perhaps when entering your post you transposed two digits on the Reverse ID. I believe you have a Fuld 11/298. The 289 die depicts an eagle with the text Lincoln & Union.
Congratulations on a great token.

Quote: perhaps when entering your post you transposed two digits on the Reverse ID. I believe you have a Fuld 11/298. Quite right Penny Guy. Shows I shouldn't try to type in a hurry and thank you for pointing it out! I'm glad you like it. I wasn't sure about the price, but now I think it was quite fair and it will make a nice addition to my collection. I understand from the seller she has been posted and I have a space waiting all ready for her!

Having the token in hand would you say it's composition is copper or brass? The Fuld ID you were given (MI370C-1b) is for this design in brass, Fuld lists it as a Rarity 4. If the piece is copper (which I suspect based on your photos) the catalog number would be MI370C-1a with a Rarity of 8. A significant difference in rarity would translate to an increase in value.
fyi R4 200 to 499 estimated to exist R8 Very Rare 5 to 9 estimated to exist
