1955 Dime Error Question - Coin Community Forum

toby42 New Member United States 5 Posts	Posted 03/03/2012 04:03 am Howdy, I'm new to collecting and very new to any mint error coins, so I don't know what I have here. It's a 1955 Dime ('S' Mint?) where it seems to maybe have been stamped too hard or something. Or there was too much silver and it overflowed the die, I don't know. But front and back sides are recessed within a smooth outer ring. I've attached pics, so I hope this suffices. Please let me know what you think! Report this Post to the Staff

Fuzzy317 Moderator United States 14463 Posts	Posted 03/03/2012 04:41 am The surface of a " Dryer Coin" would be recessed and the rim would be thicker and with a smaller diameter than normal.
