Got my second uncirculated Barr note today. It'll find a spot in my collection as soon as I re-position all the other notes in there to make a spot.

Hello together, at first I would like to wish you all a healthy, happy new Year 2014. Yesterday I bought the first bill of the year. It is a National Currency bill Series of 1929 from Germantown, Philadelphia. The bill is not really rare but for me is the bill very impressive and a interesting part of the US and also of the Germans History. For a collector in Germany which collect US bills has a name like Germantown a special charm. Of course I have informed me right over German Town and learned interesting things. The American antislavery movement was 1688 born in Germantown. The first bank of the United States was founded in Germantown. The first US paper mill on the European standard was established in 1690 in Germantown. 1721 founded the German pastor Anthony Jacobus Henckel the first Lutheran church in German Town. Germantown is a small place with lots of history. I was very surprised and pleased to read about the German influence of on the American culture. When I learn such interesting things, then I recognize how little I know. Collecting banknotes is much more than the store of material values.

There are many cities in the Midwestern part of the States, that have a large German heritage. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, which is one of them. My great grandparents came from Hanover, on my Father and Mother's side. There is a part of downtown Cincinnati that used to have a canal separating the city. The German population said it reminded them of the Rhine River. To this day it is known as "Over The Rhine". By the way, I like your note. I'm starting to get into National Currency Banknotes myself.

I got these three this morning. The cute teller saves me the best bills, old ones preferably. She had a crisp 1950 $100 which I couldn't resist.
