hajduk - I don't really have a collection of these bills. This 1934A is only my second one.....I started with the five hundred dollar bills.....1928, 1934, and 1934A, and thought I'd give it a shot with the thousand dollar bills - got the 1934 and this 1934A - still shopping around for a 1928. I'll get one eventually, but, in truth, I'm a coin collector, and paper currency is my "go to" when I experience a temporary burn out with the coins so I don't really put a lot of concentration into paper.

Hi Ralph,
I love old paper money, especially large old Americans.
Coins are not my thing, only paper money.
I collect all US Dollars.
Which face value, that's not the most important for me.
I like the portrait of G. Cleveland. He was the only US President whose two terms in office did not follow each other directly. The 20 dollar bill with the portrait of Cleveland is one of the nicest US banknotes of all time.

I hear you on that. I have the 1914 Federal Reserve Notes (one of each) from $5 through $100. I think what fascinated me the most about that year were the4 different portraits that were used.....Jackson on the $10...Cleveland on the $20, and a profile of Franklin on the $100.....all totally different from what we see on today's money. In fact, the large sized bills of the 1800s, and early 1900s have so many different designs and portraits that one can't help but be fascinated by them. Had coins not become an addiction of mine years ago, paper currency may well have been the route I traveled. I don't have a large collection of bills, but I have all I own posted in the member photo galleries (Ralph) if you'd care to look at them.

I can not find the member photo galleries.
And yes, US paper money is not boring. You can find so much different things and portraits.
Benjamin Harrison,
James A. Garfield,
Michael Hillegas,
Thomas Hart Benton,
Silas Wright,
Naval Officer Stephen Decatur Jr.,Born in Berlin Maryland,
James Monroe,
Meriwether Lewis and William Clark,
General Winfield Scott Hancock,
Thomas Andrews Hendricks,
Daniel Manning,
Thomas Andrews Hendricks,
William Windom,
William P. Fessenden,
Marta Washington,

Major General Joseph King Mansfield,
James Madison,
Edwin McMasters Stanton,
General James Birdseye McPherson,

Landing of the Pilgrims,
The Panama canal,

there are so many variants of the Columbia,
The statue of liberty is seen only very rarely.

You can find a bison, a Indian Chief, a battleship ( Series 1914 )...
Banknotes are like a business card. If you have long concerned with the banknotes of a country then you have a good chance to understand the past and present.
How can such a young country like the United States, be so powerful as it once was Rome? Why was there only one real war in the United States? Why have Germans, Irish people, Poles, French people, Italians and all the other ones no war had there?
Bills can not say everything about a country but they say very, very much. Banknotes are more than money and the economic foundation. They are a cultural and historical foundation.
I was only once in my life in the USA but I know politicians and places there of which today hardly anyone knows something. No one in Europe knows Hamburg in Iowa, only a few people here know the capital of North Dakota is named after the German Chancellor Bismarck.
US banknotes are so interesting.
Every time when I get a new national currency bill I want to know everything about the bank and the place.
I'm sure I do not know much about US banknotes but I'm sure I know more about US currency than of the English language. Sorry for my bad english but now I have time and I love it to speak or write about US paper money.

Scroll down, watching the left column, until you get to the red box that says Stuff for Members - right below that you'll find the Member Photo Galleries. Click on that, and it'll take you to that section - click on the R and you'll be redirected to the members beginning with the initial R.
Also, you'll be able to view other member's photos as well.....won't take you long to learn how to navigate around over there. I think you'll enjoy looking at all the member's photos that have ben posted.
