Since I'm a type collector, I was perfectly fine getting one from the Chicago district which had the highest number of notes printed, though still only a total of around 780,000 notes. One thing I'm curious about, and maybe you can answer. The New York Federal Reserve printed over 750,000 notes of this series but the prices of those notes in higher uncirculated grades seem to be very high, even compared to the Dallas district issue which only had a print run of around 80,000. Is that simply because few of the notes from the New York district were saved when issued, or is there possibly some other reason? Member of SPMC, FCCB, ANA and ANS. The needs of different branches presumably differed, with demand for $100s in the money center of New York perhaps running higher relative to supply than in other cities.
