Posted front and back in previous post. This post found out how to post 2 pics together lol. Found metal detecting. Pattern seems too random to be encased marks and don't know how you would achieve these marks fooling around. Any info would be great. Thanks Spanky.
no letters under liberty just looked like it from the scan. One more note, the edge of the coin is not choppy but smooth with bubbles where the fluting meets which leads me to believe the marks were done under pressure.
Coppercoins explained what was with this coin on one of your other 3 posts . If it were anything He would know and would have said so. As to HOW it was done, get a pair of diagonal wire cutting pliers and just go around the coin and nip at it. Don't ask why someone would do this. They apparently have too much free time.
