Four scoops since April 20. In one I got $3.89 of common US coins plus some foreign coins. In the next I got just the silver dime. In the third I got the 1948 nickel and the 1930 cent and in a fourth I got a clad dime and some more foreign coins and tokens.

Plus another Chuck E Cheese token, a religious token and what I think was a parking token from a Mercy Medical Center.

Too bad the Chuck E Cheese token is now worthless. I've never been in one of their places.

Stopped by my bank and saw some coins in the reject try. Since the machine was inside their business and being polite, I mentioned I was a coin collector and asked if I could check the rejects. My big find was a 1909 Wheatie. I also picked out a couple Japanese coins (1 Yen aluminium, and 10 Yen Bronze).

999fine. Maybe time to break out the metal detector if the banks and coinstars aren't doing it for you.

Check the history around you. I'm in south florida, My city built in 1955, the main city Ft. Lauderdale founded in 1925, BUT, there was a Fort Lauderdale in the Seminole wars, the First U.S. Stockade, and that was built in 1838, New River Settlement in the mid- 1800s. The East Coast RailRoad Tracks at the turn of the 1900s

I'm not finding colonials of course, but I am fairly certain people dropped things along the way and it's just a matter of knowing where to look for buried Treasures.

I honestly thought I'd have to go much further north to find old cities and parks and sites to search, but apparently there's enough history for Morgan dollars and Indian Head cents, and Seated coinage even as a possibility. I think mostly it's figuring out where the commerce points were and gathering points and hopefully it's not under 8 inches of asphalt and cement now LOL.

My Area has less history than other areas do, and I think it's still a good place to metal detect, heck there's always lost jewelry at the beach to go for also.

was able to get a 2008 25 Cent Cayman Islands coin off the coin counter last week. First free foreign from the bank in about 3 months.
