It's been a long while since my last .25 broke the streak today. Sitting in the reject tray.

Wow, Cabowabo... that 1937-D is amongst the lowest grade coins I've ever seen floating around in circulation. Nice find!

CRH Nickeloholic. 1,600,000 nickels searched in eight years! Have found FOUR complete Jefferson sets!

Thank you for the welcome, Jbuck. I'm really enjoying this thread and seeing everyone's finds!

Occasionally I get my hands on other things because I count the cashier's tills and deal with what's in the safe at the store, so I've gotten neat things from there too!

A single silver 1964 Roosevelt dime was waiting in the reject tray for me today.

Today I had my best Coinstar haul for ages! I only visited this supermarket as it sells my cat's favorite food, and stocks were getting low (he didn't appreciate the budget alternative I gave him yesterday).

I walked past the Coinstar and saw quite a few shiny things in the reject slot. A few scoops and they were in my pocket.

It more than paid for the cat food!
- 24 coins altogether.
- £2.40 in current British money, including the first two bimetallic £1 coins I have ever found in a Coinstar!
- One obsolete circular brass 1990 £1 coin
- One clad Washington quarter (1984P)
- One Canadian dime (1988)
- One South African rand (1995)
- One obsolete Belgian 1 franc (1989)
- One 2019 Romania 5 bani - Collection Addition!

By British standards, this was a great haul! We Brits tend to check the reject trays pretty thoroughly, as the loss of a few £1 or £2 coins could make a big dent in the weekly budget!

I have yet to find any silver in a British Coinstar machine. The most likely silver coins to find would probably be foreign ones such as pre-1968 Swiss or Canadian coins that someone might have brought back from a past holiday and found in a drawer. The UK has not issued silver coins since 1946 and they'd practically all disappeared from circulation by around 1975: the last ones (the old shillings and florins) were demonetized in the early 1990s.
