From a Walmart I wasn't even planning to go to, I found a 1993 dime and Two Cents (one of which was a 1982-D copper!). The dime was on the coin dumper, and the cents were in the reject bin. But wait, there's more! In the reject bin, I found a 1964-D Roosevelt dime! Silver number four lifetime found in Coinstar reject bins.

There's a supermarket with a Coinstar right near where I park my car. If I have time, I'll usually pop in there after work or getting home from somewhere else and check it.

Still, a few days ago, I found 27 cents (all clad) in the dump tray! Yesterday, a quick check revealed that the machine's out of order, but I found a clad dime on the ground walking home!

I've also found foreign coins from several countries, which, I guess, is a perk of living in a college town with students from everywhere. I have started saving one coin from every country I find CRH-ing or in the Coinstar, so that ought to be fun.

I also found a bus token from our local bus system, which is cool since they don't use them anymore. That's going in a 2x2 as well, I think!

I have yet to find silver or even a remotely old US coin in a Coinstar, but here's hoping for the future!

It seems like finding three silver coins in four months is an anomaly.

The key is persistency... sooner or later it WILL happen... the dry patches are tough though. I've gone 3 months at a time without finding any silver or other goodies...

I agree that you will find something in the reject tray if you regularly look, its not always silver but since silver coins are rejected, f a person doesn't bother to check the tray after there would be a possibility to find them also. In my area all the machines are in very high traffic areas like at the front of major grocery chains so I'm guessing they are checked on often by people, but I did find coins 3 times the past few months since this thread gave me some thought to start looking. I still have them in piles along with the other pocket change coins I'll be going through so Ill remember to post them eventually.

Found a 43D Merc in the CoinStar at a local Food Lion yesterday. It was lonely sitting in that reject tray all by its self. Only my 2nd silver find.
