After a long dry spell I hit gold (well silver actually) twice in a week! A couple days ago was a lone 60 dime and then today was a much larger find. Today I was at my local grocery and found the following: 64-D and 64-P silver US quarters 1995 and 1978 Canadian quarters 1987 $100 Mexican ("Old Pesos") 3 flattened pennies from "Butterfly Wonderland" (a Phoenix area attraction) $1.57 current US coins |

Found a 1967 Canadian bird cent today. Yup, just a single cent, which our youngest promptly claimed. Still waiting for my first silver find.

Dashed into the closed customer service area at WM the other day... glad I did. Spotted two coins in the reject tray, grabbed em, and went on with shopping. When I looked at them later, I almost fell over. No silver, but something probably rarer. Two additions to my "how many countries can I pull from circulation or coinstar reject trays" collection. A 2000 South African 2 rand... and something that I had to google to ID. Turns out it's a 1917 5 fenigow from the very short-lived (1917-1918) Austro-Hungarian and Imperial German created "Kingdom of Poland." !!!!!! Struck in steel/iron. Not rare, but it somehow made its way to a WM in Middle America. I am sure if I keep checking reject trays long enough, I will find silver, but I can say with fair certainty that I will never find another one of these. This also means I have to re-label my country collection with the dates of each state... I already have a Polish coin from the current 3rd republic.  Edited by The Silver Searcher

Now THAT is a really cool find. I have seen those South African coins in coin lots but I've never seen that Polish coin. Very interesting piece of history. I wonder if there were any coins or notes issued by the short lived Ukrainian state that existed during the final years of the war and into the early 20s.

Went to the local supermarket to deposit my CRH rejects for no-fee gift cards, and found 2 cents in the reject tray. One of them was a 1943-P steel cent, which was also an album filler.
